New's > Mobile Court convicts 60 traffic offenders in Plateau.

The Zone 4 of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on Friday said that the mobile court trying traffic
offenders convicted 60 motorists in Plateau on Thursday.
The Zonal Commanding Officer, Aliyu Gummi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos that the exercise covered three locations
in Jos-Bukuru metropolis.
He said that the exercise was part of its special Christmas patrol targeted at reducing road crashes during festivities.
“The focus is to ensure that only qualified drivers and vehicles ply the roads.
“We actually apprehended 65 offenders, but five of them were discharged by the mobile court, while the remaining 60 were convicted.
”Most of the motorists were convicted over drivers’ license violation, overloading, mechanically-deficient vehicles, use of phone
while driving, obstruction and seat belt violation.
‘“Some were equally convicted for using worn-out tyres, number plate violation, the lack of fire extinguishers and caution signs.
“Others were arrested for lane indiscipline, speeding and torn windscreens.
The commanding officer explained that the mobile court trial was carried out simultaneously in all states and unit commands that
fall withing the states in the zone, comprising Plateau, Benue and Nasarawa.

So in addition, people should obey the traffic light.
