Jessica Ennis-Hill set to quit athletics next year to have more children

The Olympic champion is focused on winning gold at Rio this year, but then she and her husband Andy Hill plan to expand their family.

UK Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill has revealed she will give up athletics next year to have more children.
The 29-year-old heptathlon star had a son Reggie last July.
But although she is focused on winning gold at the Rio Olympics this year, Jessica and her husband Andy Hill plan to expand their family.
“I will definitely not go on longer than 2017,” she said in an interview with the Telegraph today.
Jessica admitted she found it hard to leave little Reggie for two weeks while competing at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing last year.
She said: “I knew I would miss him so much. It was the worst feeling ever. I kept crying.”
Jess overcame an Achilles injury to win the heptathlon in Beijing - a gruelling two day test of hurdles, high jump, long jump, javelin, shot-put, 200 metres and 900 metres, all as a new mum.
She had also breast fed her son for four months and had been suffering from severe sleep deprivation thanks to Reggie.
“I still want to be the best athlete I can be but not at the sacrifice of seeing my son. I want to see him as much as I can.”
