Sanchez admits Arsenal players lack self-belief to win the title after Swansea shock

Alexis Sanchez has conceded Arsenal players do not believe they can win the title.

The Gunners suffered a shock home defeat to Swansea on Wednesday night , which saw them remain six points behind leaders Leicester.

It came after a poor display at Manchester United and fans vented their anger at full-time.

Next up is a crunch north London derby with Tottenham, who sit three points above their fierce rivals.

And going into the clash, Sanchez has admitted the confidence in the Gunners squad is very low.

"We lack self-belief, that we can actually be champions," he told Directv Sports.

"I think we can win the Premier League with the players we have. That said, we lack a certain hunger. We need to step out onto the pitch as if we're already 1-0 up.

"I remember a game against Manchester United last year. The lads looked hungry for silverware as we took to the pitch.

"We crushed them in the first 20 minutes and went 3-0 up. We were hungry and brimming with confidence that day."

Sanchez has been out-of-sorts since returning from injury but did hit the post during the first-half against Swansea.

After the game, boss Wenger said: "We want the focus to be on trying to win the next game, and we won't talk about the title now. I'm not in the mood to do that now.

"It's a big disappointment and we have to swallow that and bounce back."
