Vicente Iborra Score 3 Goals
Substitute Vicente Iborra scored a decisive second half hat trick as Sevilla swept aside Celta Vigo 3-0 to move within a point of second placed Barcelona.
Having lost to Granada last weekend the Rojiblancos needed three points to keep themselves in touch with LaLiga's pace-setters and it was Iborra, a half time replacement, who secured the victory.
He headed home a corner five minutes after coming on, added a second in the 84th minute and secured the match ball with a penalty in added time.
Franco Vazquez had an early chance to put the visitors ahead but saw his effort parried by Ruben Blanco, while Iago Aspas twice worked Sergio Rico in response.
The game continued to be open but Sevilla should have made their greater possession pay after 28 minutes, when Steven N'Zonzi headed a Vazquez corner against the crossbar.
After a goalless first half it was the home side who almost nicked the lead in the opening moments of the second.
Aspas twice laid on scoring chances for team mates in quick succession but Daniel Wass saw his effort stopped by Rico and Marcelo Diaz did not even get that far with his.
Pablo Sarabia drove the Rojiblancos back up the field with purpose and it was his corner in the 50th minute that the newly arrived Iborra nodded home to break the deadlock.
There were chances at either end to add to the scoring but it was not until Iborra met Vitolo's assist late on that a second arrived.
Gustavo Cabral gave him the hat trick chance when he felled substitute Joaquin Correa in the box and the 28 year old duly did the business from 12 yards.
Scorers [ Vicente Iborra 51', 84', 90' penalty ]
