With many rivers still swollen, there could be further flooding in parts of the North East, Devon, Cornwall and Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.
Parts of the UK are braced for more floods as heavy rain and high winds batter Britain this week.
But the Met Office says there is no sign of a return to
extreme weather which ruined Christmas for thousands of householders, although temperatures will fall to a chilly 43F - 45F (6-7C).
The Met Office issued amber “be prepared” warnings for heavy rain in parts of Scotland today.
And yellow “be aware” warnings for heavy showers are also in place parts of Northern Ireland, Wales, the South West, South East and North East of England for Tuesday.
Some areas of Scotland could have 15-25mm (0.6 to one inch) of rain, with as much as 40mm (1.6 inches) over high ground, leading to a continued risk of flooding due to already-saturated ground.
