MODRIC Admits BENITEZ'S Sacking Was 'Good' For Real Madrid

Zinedine Zidane replaced the Spaniard on Monday and guided his side to a comfortable 5-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday
Luka Modric admits Rafa Benitez’s sacking has been a positive move for Real Madrid and believes the results are evident following Saturday’s 5-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna.

A hat-trick from Gareth Bale, along with a double from Gareth Bale, handed a comfortable first win for Zinedine Zidane, who replaced Benitez on Monday.

Reports had claimed that several of Madrid’s key players were unhappy with Benitez’s leadership, and Modric concedes the Spaniard’s departure has been positive for the team.

"I want to thank him for what he has done,” Modric said after Saturday’s victory.
“But to be honest, I think the change has been good.

"Whenever you lose, someone always has to pay, but to be honest, you only have to compare this game with the previous ones.
