Mystery Chinese love note found washed up in a bottle on Anglesey beach 6,000 miles away. (Part 1)

An 11-year-old boy who was beachcombing had a big surprise when he discovered a message in a bottle washed up on the sand.
Jack Harrington and his mum Nancy were walking their dog on Silver Bay Beach in Anglesey when he spotted the glass bottle containing a scroll of paper written in a foreign language.
“We were just generally wandering about with the dog and beachcombing,” said Nancy.
“Jack found the bottle at the back of the beach, near the sand dunes.”
The family were on holiday at Silver Bay Holiday Village when Jack made the discovery during the school holiday, reports Wales Online.
The short, round bottle is made from glass and has a black lid covered in orange, green and white letters.
Nancy thought the writing was in Chinese and managed to find a friend to translate it.
“One of my work colleagues is married to a Chinese lady, who kindly provided the interpretation,” she said.
The text contains a story of love and loss and appears to have come from Gulangyu Island – an island off the coast of Xiamen city in southern China.
If the bottle really did come from the island near Hong Kong, it would have floated thousands of miles around the world.
People have been trying to trace the source of the message
The first line says: “Gulangyu islet is the most surprising, most memorable, and the place of both my happiest and saddest memories.”
Staff at the holiday village have since tried to trace the source of the message, but have not yet discovered its origins.
They have been told the text contains a song from Amolensis University in China, but have not been able to make contact with the university.
Georgina Bradbury, who has been researching the object, said: “We want to know whether the message really floated all the way from Gulangyu Island – over 6,000 miles away.
