Why Top English players don't go into management after retiring - Steven Gerrard

The former England and Liverpool captain believes the Football Association is partly to blame for players fading away after retirement.
Steven Gerrard think the Football Association do enough to keep players involved in football following their retirement from playing.
The Liverpool and England legend singled out former teammates Jamie Carragher and Robbie Fowler as two ex-pros who are currently not being used and would have a lot to offer on the training ground.
But he believes players are put off going into coaching after retirement because they have to start at square one when it comes to earning their coaching badges,
the Liverpool Echo report.
“I had a meeting with the FA and said: ‘these players that are earning a certain amount of caps, don’t let them go away from the game, do more to keep them involved’,” said Gerrard, who is currently working towards his UEFA A licence.
