ARSENAL'S IWOBI Delighted With FA CUP Debut

The 19-year old Arsenal youngster has highlighted Saturday’s English FA Cup debut as a childhood dream come true

Alex Iwobi has revealed that his FA Cup debut against Sunderland is a dream come true.

The Nigerian was handed a starter’s shirt in the Gunners’ defeat of the Black Cats before he made way for Aaron Ramsey and he described that as an amazing moment he has been anticipating to come as a young boy.

“It is amazing. It is the best feeling ever. It is a dream come true. Since I was a young boy I have always wanted to put on my shirt with Iwobi on my back with the Emirates screaming my name,” Iwobi told Arsenal’s Final Whistle.

“As a young kid, I always wondered if I would get there and to have this opportunity today, I’m just thankful. It was a young boy’s dream come true. Playing at home with everyone screaming your name and giving you the confidence to express yourself – it felt like a debut.”

He was quick to point out how important training with the first team has aided his development.
“Training and playing with them everyday is such a learning curve. Hopefully, I can train with them more and play more so I can develop every day.”

Alex Iwobi has featured in 15 games for Arsenal this season in all competitions.
